IO INDUSTRIES
ANNOUNCES COMPACT 3G/HD-SDI POV CAMERA
IO Industries Inc.
(Canada) is proud to announce the newest member of the Flare camera family: The
Flare 2KSDI. With dual 3G/HD-SDI
outputs, a rugged aluminum body and a handheld remote control, the 2KSDI is the
ultimate POV camera, combining professional features in a sub-$5K package.
At the heart of
the camera is a 2/3" full-HD CMOS sensor, featuring high sensitivity, low
noise, and global shutter technology for crisp action shots. And for special applications, the 2KMSDI and
2KNSDI versions utilize monochrome and near-IR sensors with increased
sensitivity for low-light shooting.
All models support
single-link HD-SDI output formats including 720p (23.98-60) or 1080p (23.98-30)
video. Single-link 3G-SDI output formats
are also supported, including 1080p (50-60). Additional formats including 2K and Dual-Link HD-SDI will be added in
future firmware releases. For
stereoscopic 3D or other multi-camera applications, a tri-level sync input is
provided.
The camera uses a
standard C-mount allowing many lens options, including a variety of compact
C-mount lenses as well as F-mount, B4-mount or PL-mount lenses (using
additional adapters). EF-mount lenses
can be attached and controlled by the camera using the 2KSDI EF Lens Mount,
allowing remote control of focus and aperture settings.
For precise color
accuracy, each camera is factory-calibrated to the latest SMPTE 274M (ITU-R
BT.709) international colorimetry, with presets for 3200K and 5600K. However, the Color Correction Matrix and
Saturation controls are all user-adjustable, allowing color matching of the
2KSDI with other studio cameras.
All settings are
fully configurable with an easy-to-use handheld remote and on-screen menu. The menu is overlayed on the primary SDI
output for display on a monitor or viewfinder. The secondary SDI output is left clean for connection to a DVR or
broadcast switcher. As well, software is
provided for USB control from a nearby laptop or tablet.
The low-heat and
low-power design means the camera consumes only 4W (at 12V) but supports 12-24V
for use with a variety of power sources. Accessory cables are available with PowerTap adapters for easy
connection to batteries. |
